SACRAMENTO
Late afternoon on the river. The windows are open, something cold is on the table, and a record is already spinning.
This Sacramento console has a clever trick built into its design. The front panels swivel open to reveal the speakers, allowing you to direct the sound into the room. Closed, the speakers disappear behind the walnut façade. Open, the console becomes part of the listening experience.
The controls for the Original Zenith from 1968 sit inside alongside the turntable, and there's space for the records you actually listen to, too. It’s a piece that changes depending on what you’re doing: furniture when the music is off, a proper listening setup when it’s time to play.
Very California, very mid-century, and very good at its job.
